I think I’m still sleeping and it is closing in on 1 p.m.
Yesterday I rode one third of the Cyclofemme ride. My new bicycle performed admirably. Me? Not so much. My daughter said I did good. I think she was being rather nice to me, it being Mother’s Day and all. That one third was probably 2-3 miles. Then my knees just burned out! Damn those knees.
We just need to keep riding. Practice. Sundays are good for that. Actually the whole family could play. I’ve left the bike rack in the carport with my bike. We’ll load up and go back to Two Rivers Park, the site of the ride, and spend a leisurely hour on the flat, scenic trail, acclimating me to my bicylce. My goal is to make the entire ride next year. There are so many benefits to bike riding. So ladies, and gentlemen, pull those dusty bikes out of the garage, tume ’em up, and ride. You will feel so good! Well, after the pain goes away. There are all ages, all shapes, all sizes out there on bicycles!
Someone needs to invent a seat that is more comfortable, more like a chair. Guess we could go recumbent. Hehehehe. I can see myself falling over and eating dust with that one!
Let’s all sing along with Queen…’I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike…”
