Saturday was a yard work day. Whew! There is always so much to do. I started on the south side of the barn employing the weed whacker, a shovel, the push mower, and a hefty amount of elbow grease. Bob tackled the riding mower.
There’s something seriously wrong with that picture.
We mowed down what we could. We need a bush hog and tractor, but that has to be hired out. I have a friend that does it on the cheap for us, but the tractor is temporarily out of commission. It will wait. Perhaps we’ll pick a few blackberries before the brambles are mowed over. I don’t remember when they ripen. I know the picking requires long sleeves made of leather. Armor would be better.
This afternoon I was moved to throw a pity party. The guest list was short. I served pizza and cookies. A good time was had by all.
A friend posted this on Facebook today.

She couldn’t have chosen a better message for the day. I think sometimes the IS interferes at just the right moment.
I started over a couple of days ago…I started over this morning. I will probably start over tomorrow. The story is imagined. Now the work must be done. My new mantra should be ‘focus ho ommmm, focus ho ommm.’
And the only thing left to say is ‘I got nuttin more today’.
That pity party was exhausting!
Sounds like you need a glass of wine too.
Glass? How about the whole bottle. Drown myself in the blessed juice of the grape! Join me? I’ll get another bottle.
sure sounds perfect.
Cheers! (glass clinking heard)
