Tuesday rolled around in a big hurry. So many things to do, so little time.
We were out and about for class this morning. I picked up Bob’s passport photos. The Canadian passport photo requirements are very specific. Bob’s passport expired forever ago. I did all the paperwork once before and he just let it sit without completing it. I guess I’ll ride ass this time. I can do that very well, thank you.
We have, over the years, had to make a few phone calls to our Canadian bank and government offices for one thing or another. It is astonishing how helpful and kind all of those we have spoken with have been. It’s always been very easy to get a real, live person on the phone.
Not so here in these United States. No few occasions on hold with a voice mail system and a number punching selection menu have resulted in hand-set banging on the desk. Good thing my phone is in an Otter Box. It would have died long ago. Then there are the times that I’ve wanted to beam over and smack people once I did get them. Hard.
I know you’ve been there. Don’t deny it.
It’s a jungle here.
I think the elephants are holding up progress.
